So, I’ve been trying to kick my orange juice-as-a-smoothie-base habit for years. Ever since I found out that a glass of orange juice has as much sugar as a can of Coke, I knew that despite all of the wonderful greens and superfoods that I was enjoying with each smoothie, I was also sugar-bombing myself, which isn’t exactly a great way to start your day or refuel after a workout.
I tried using nut milks or water instead, but was just never completely satisfied with the way the smoothies came out and then Harmless Harvest Harmless Coconut Probiotics happened.
Harmless’s new cultured coconut drink has less sugar than orange juice, a good dose of healthy fats, gut-healing probiotics, and a totally addictive tangy taste. As soon as I had my first sip, I knew it would make an excellent smoothie base. And I was right.
I whipped it up with some fresh spinach, pineapple chunks, camu powder for extra vitamin C, and Bulletproof collagen protein and, let me tell you, I did not miss the orange juice. It basically tasted like a green pina colada and I think it’s safe to say that it’s going to be my new go-to green smoothie! If you’re ready to ditch the juice and add some healing probiotics to your smoothie game, here’s what you do!
